The Department of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Modern Languages at UET Lahore organized a thought-provoking documentary screening aimed at promoting gender inclusivity and empowerment. The event provided a platform to raise awareness and foster meaningful dialogue on critical gender-related issues in Pakistan.
Dr. Mehvish Riaz and Ms. Hina Zahid moderated an engaging discussion, encouraging students to reflect on and address pressing societal challenges. The audience watched a series of impactful documentaries highlighting key issues such as the cultural burden of dowry, the oppression and systemic barriers faced by women, the struggles of the transgender community, and the transformative role of education in empowering women. The screening was followed by an interactive session where students shared their perspectives and proposed solutions to advance gender equality in Pakistan.
