Zimal UET Lahore, in collaboration with Dr. Mehvish Riaz, Chairperson, Department of Humanities, Social Sciences and Modern Languages, UET, Lahore, organized an open mic discussion on gender issues on January 19, 2023. Professor Dr. Muhammad Shahid Rafique, Dean, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Humanities and Islamic Studies also graced the occasion. Students from various departments presented their opinions, poems and artwork, and discussed the difference between conventional and evolving gender roles in Pakistani context. Issues, such as dowry, honour killing, oppression, verbal abuse, women’s struggle and contribution, and male victimhood were highlighted.
