UET Alumni Reunion 2017

University of Engineering & Technology Lahore organize 3 rd Annual Alumni Reunion. A large number of Alumni, faculty members, scientist and notables from industry attended the event. Saeed Ahmed Akhtar alumni of civil engineering batch 1956 was chief guest while chairman PEC and UET Alumni Engr. Javed Saleem Qureshi Ex VC UET Lt. Gen(R) Muhammad Akram Khan, VC UET Prof. Dr. Fazal Ahmad Khalid were guest of honor.

Talking to alumni Vice Chancellor UET Lahore Prof. Dr. Fazal Ahmad Khalid said “UET graduates have been contributing in the development of Pakistan in all engineering sector through their unique ideas, skills and talent. It is matter of honor for university and its students to organize such a wonderful event.” Vice Chancellor further said, “The idea behind alumni reunion is to connect the old students with UET for getting benefits from their knowledge, experiences, expertise in up gradation of curriculum, labs and techniques to compete the other institutes. In this context, an Alumni office has been established. This will facilitate the alumnae to link up with varsity through their command on different subjects, endowment fund for strengthening UET.”

He said that “The youth must follow the footprints of the success stories of the UET legends for the multiple growth of Pakistan in all sectors.” Meanwhile Chairman Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) and alumni Engr. Javed Saleem Qureshi said, “PEC is taking measures to empower the engineering and engineers at large. In this regards entrepreneurship policy has been announced to facilitate the engineers and 2018 will be the year of engineers through consistent policies.” In the ceremony Ex-Chairmen Metallurgical Engineering Department UET Lahore Prof. Dr. Qasim Zaidi, renowned old students and renowned singers Jawad Ahmad, Deeba Kirn, Babar Shair, Shahzaib presented special performances. Deans, faculty, Director Students Affairs Prof. Dr. Asif Ali Qaiser, Alumni Focal Person Dr. Shumaila Shahzadi also attended the event. Vice Chancellor presented crests to guests. The event concluded by Sky lanterns arranged by departments.
